Snap your cool travel photos with your lovely phone

Since i love both photography and travelling that much, saving the moment of my trip is a must. Mostly i just did the typically runaway travelling, no planning at all, but it was always fun . It might be a lil difficult to arrange some stuff because you’ll need them in a hurry. Thats why i just only bring and use my phone for taking the moment. Maybe this kind of shocking travelling will cause chaotic at first but trust me it makes you know about your basic needs even better than before.

For the typically short trip, like i told you i just only using my phone. It is kindly exhausted to bring cameras while you only have limited time when having cameras in hand make you want to take picture more and more. Well you should enjoy the trip also.

Im using iPhone 5s for mostly my instagram pics (you can check my ig @heyyimerin) and who doesnt love apple? Even sony got their pro camera or others, apple still give their best (except for the night camera) so here, i’ll share you several tips for taking a cooler picture with your own phone.

The most-very-important “LIGHT”

Fundamental in every way when taking a photograph. No problem which kind of phone that you use, while you still have the best of light, the pic will shown in a better way. Harsh light can be difficult to work with so you might choose which time that match to the style of your photograph. Different type of lights will also make a huge difference to how your photo will turn out. For me my most favorite time is around-after sunrise and before-around-after sunset both of them give the magically golden light, i love them, thats the main reason why i named my blog as “sepotong senja” it’s “ a piece of twilight” and it warmed me up. Another wonderfull time for taking pic is at cloudy-shine noon, i said cloudy because it will not becoming too hot for you for standing right under the sun.

Framing

Framing is about which place to point your focus on. Here or there. Its about the best position to capture the photograph. You can also activated the grid line to guied you to choose a better spot for the pic. But i rare use them tho, using my natural insting just even more fun, lol. And the result seems interesting.

Composition

Im telling you, well it is quite hard to get the right composition as your desire wants you to. Maybe you found it cool when you sneak out to someone pics as a pro and might think it will easy to try. But trust me it is quite difficult. I also look into other’s pic for some refferences and when i want to do the same, it’s failed. So i back into my natural skill on it. To me composition has to do with soul and feelings, different person would give different style of feeling in composition. When i asked someone to captured me i’ll find the right composition by myself then ask her/him to ‘click’ me up after im ready in my position, but still the result just different just when i personally took the pic.

The unexpected photo just more interesting

Sometimes the best travel photos are the unexpected ones, candid moments, the traditional food markets, a bundle of joy crowded, happy couple, occupation, mother of nature, everything. But my favorite are candid and nature since i mostly post my self and sometimes the nature. Chances are your photos will be more unique and memorable.

Equipment in addition

Having the right equipment that fits your travel lifestyle is essential. Nowadays we might find  some accecories that support the phone,such as fish eye, wide lens, osmo ji, and the most popular gopro. There are so many of them, so it is just depend which one is a need? Well i just have fish eye, and with a lil zoom it becomes wide lens, and wide lens work like gopro, thats how my picture talk, lol. Both wide lens and gopro in general giving the same result, they wider the scenery, and it makes the photo even more beautiful, thats why im in love, yet of course gopro got more benefit, but im just telling you the part that i love. What else? Power bank? Actually power bank not that good for your phone and it makes you getting addicted to use them and then you can’t control your phone usage, keeping your on the phone isn’t the purpose of having a travel, so get rid of it.

Moment

Here is the reason you, i mean us, taking the photograph, people said “pictures worth more than a thousand words” and it really does. By taking a picture we are saving the moment we can never get back, our childhood, our cranky high school life, our precious moment, our sweet memories, or even sadness, lonelyness, our unforgetable special one, and of course our life. And, thats why i captured every moment i could. Every moment just as pure as gold.

Do you need filters?

I’m also playing in several picture editor, but my favorite still vscocam and afterlight. I don’t know why, maybe because they just easy to use. The filters are just awesome, and there are some fitur also like in afterlight you can add dusty filter to dramatic your pic. But mostly i just settings the light, exposure, lower or upper the tone, or do something like that. That will give a more natural effect and didin’t ruin the original one.

Well thats what you can do with your phone to have a cooler picture, the magically golden light, the right composition, the unexpected style, the act of the equipment, the precious moment, and then pack it in a very natural filters.
